OUR PRODUCT - Project Alabama Green T strives to create beautiful, intricate garments with a social and ecological consciousness. Project Alabama utilizes azo-free dyes, natural fibers, water soluble printing inks and water soluble airbrush paints in the creation of Green T collections. These materials, coupled with hand crafted techniques, give Green Ts our trademark look. In the fall of 2008, Project Alabama introduced a capsule collecton of machine made T-shirts. These Project Alabama Machine Ts employ modern silhouettes and luxurious fabrics which are sexy, yet understated. All Project Alabama garments are crafted with care using Fair Trade Operating Standards in an effort to support sustainable living.
As a company, Project Alabama is constantly moving towards more progressive and sustainable
business practices from the inception of our designs to our labels and tags. We are looking forward to experimenting with innovative materials and methods on our journey to make greener products.
OUR PEOPLE - The creative and intellectual design authenticity for Project Alabama Green T comes from our design studio in Alabama. Shannon Schmalfeldt, our talented and creative head designer, has been with Project Alabama from the beginning. Since joining the team, Shannon has devoted her time to learning and practicing the processes that form the roots of our craft. Shannon's designs focus on hand-crafted texture and are modern translations of early American quilting techniques.
Darena Yee, head designer for Project Alabama Machine, is the other crucial member of our design team. A San Francisco native, Darena commenced her career designing for Calvin Klein Ck, Mica amongst other reputed names. Currently in L.A, much of her earlier time spent in New York has had a profound impact on her designs, contributing to her "city chic" style. Darena's designs are characterized by remarkable fit and overflow with style and attitude.
Our sales teams are based on the east coast and west coast as well as in Europe.
Our production management team is headquartered in New York.
